  1. Welcome to Cliptures!

  3. Thank you for purchasing Cliptures! We appreciate your
  4. patronage and want to help you get the most use from, and,
  5. have the most fun with our graphics! Here's a quick look at
  6. some special features included on the Cliptures CD:
  7.  
  8. This CD includes a printable, color, image index as well as
  9. Macintosh and Windows Help information in Adobe Acrobat
  10. (PDF) format.
  11.  
  12. The Image Index is designed so you can print a color image
  13. index of all the graphics in this volume. Cliptures indexes
  14. are formatted to print on 8 1/2" x 11 paper so you can store
  15. them in a standard 3 ring notebook. This way, as your
  16. Cliptures library grows, you can store many indexes in a
  17. single notebook!
  18.  
  19. The Help file (included with the Image Index) is an
  20. important resource of information about the Cliptures
  21. graphics and how to use them with various different
  22. programs. If this Cliptures volume includes a KoolKat
  23. special edition catalog, there will be information and tips
  24. for using it as well.

  26. The Image Index and the help information are both accessed
  27. through the main "Index.pdf" file on the CD.
  28.  
  29. To view or print the Image Index or help information, you
  30. need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your
  31. computer. Acrobat Reader has become a very popular and
  32. common program for viewing computer documents. You may
  33. already have it installed, but in case you don't, we've
  34. included installers for Windows 95/98, Windows 3.1, and,
  35. Macintosh versions of it on this CD.

  37. The Index.pdf file is compatible with Adobe Acrobat Reader
  38. version 3 or later. If you already have this, or a later
  39. version of Acrobat Reader, there is nothing you need to
  40. install to use the Index. If you don't have Acrobat Reader
  41. installed, or, you need to install a newer version, you can
  42. install it from this CD.

  44. This CD includes Acrobat Reader, version 4, for both Windows
  45. 95 or later and Macintosh. It also includes Acrobat Reader,
  46. version 3, for Windows 3.1. An even later version may be
  47. available for free from Adobe's web site at:

  50. - Opening the Index.pdf File
  51. After you install Acrobat Reader, you should restart you
  52. computer before trying to open the Index.pdf file. Once
  53. you've installed it and restarted your computer, you can
  54. open the Index.pdf file in one of 2 ways:

  56. 1. You may be able to start Acrobat Reader and open the
  57. index file at the same time by double-clicking on the file
  58. on the Cliptures CD called: Index.pdf
  59.  
  60. 2. You can start Acrobat Reader, then from Reader's file
  61. menu, select the Open command, and then select the Index.pdf
  62. file on the CD.
  63.  
  64. The Help portion of the Index.pdf file has very useful
  65. information about all of the various formats of the
  66. Cliptures graphics and basic steps for using them with a
  67. variety of popular layout software programs.
  68.  
  69. We've also included the Help information in a separate text
  70. file on the CD called "Read Me 2" just in case you don't
  71. want to use Acrobat Reader and don't want a printed image
  72. index.
